“Most people died in the war when they tried to move to other areas. We (my sister and I) are just like the leftovers on the rice filter basket (rice chaff). We were living near this area during the war. Our house was burnt! That was because of bombing during the war. Then the flood destroyed our house, so we moved here.”

When the war started, we had no idea what was happening. We were just running away and trying to hide. We did not know anything, so we didn’t hate the people attacking us. All we knew was just hiding and running away.”

We worked and sold stuff during the daytime and at night, we hid. It was difficult for us during the war because we had to hide from guns, bombs, and other weapons. Before the war happened, it was peaceful here.”
