Dear Alden: Thanks for sending me your latest blog on canyoneering Middle Earth! I was in Yosemite with my sister, Patrice, about 3 weeks ago hiking up to Vogelsang and we were reminded again of you and how we met you on the John Muir Trail that summer. It’s so exciting to get caught up with your latest activities! I just watched your film on Canyoneering and was amazed at what you are doing, happy to see you on film in live action, hear your voice, and especially proud of how you are focusing your message on encouraging people to take care of our earth! It was wonderful to hear from you again! Best to you, Hilda and Patrice, the Twins
Hey Hilda & Patrice! Great to hear from you two! Glad you enjoyed the update and video. I’ve been slacking a little on the blog, but am trying to get back into posting something every week. And perhaps finishing the JMT posts. :-) Life’s been pretty busy with all the trips I’ve been taking, and of course I gotta work every now and then to fund everything. I think of you two every time I see a lodgepole pine and explain the “L” of the pine needles and the “cornflake bark” to someone. And then there’s the Mountain Hemlock I remember you describing as the “Wizard Hat”. I make it a point to try and find and identify them when I’m up in the Sierra. Glad you both are are still getting out, Vogelsang is still on my list of places to check out. As always greatly appreciate hearing from you two.
